Refurbish Kits

My ecological approach to computer refurbishing involves recycling as much of your existing computer as possible by replacing only the parts needed to bring your system up to current software and gaming demands.

I charge $100 to refurbish your existing computer by replacing the needed parts and transferring data from the old hard drive to the new hard drive, limited to the Main profile identity. (You might have more than one person using the computer.) There is a $10 charge for each additional identity transfer setup.

The motherboards and CPU are made by Intel
and have three-year warranties.

The memory is made by Crucial and it has a lifetime warranty.

The hard drives are all made by Western Digital and have a one- to three- year warranty, depending on the hard drive you choose.

The motherboard kits are tested with the memory and CPU before they are shipped to me, so there are no surprises or delays when building your refurbished system.  I recommend replacing the power supply to guarantee the reliability and protect the warranty on the motherboard on all rebuilt systems.  I also recommend replacing the CD-ROM with a new DVD/RW because software being released these days is on DVD format in order to be able to take advantage of the large storage capacity of DVDs to back up your data and make DVD projects you can play on your TV system.

During refurbishing I will reload your original operating system onto the new hard drive. I will install all the drivers needed for sound, network, video and other hardware in your system.  I will install all the basic Software needed to burn CDs and DVDs, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Power DVD and AVG virus software.

Also during refurbishing I will copy your data from your old hard drive from the main identity folder.  There is a $10 charge for each additional identity transfer setup.

Arrangements can be made to transfer other data and install additional software and printers at additional cost over and above the basic refurbish.

Software like QuickBooks can only be installed if you have current working installation software and backups of your accounts in a backup format from a readable source.  Usernames, Passwords and activation key codes may be needed to restore accounts and are necessary to access accounts and activate software.
