Reloading Your Operating System

Reloading your system is a fast and safe way to eliminate the headaches of hard drive system failures as well as the chances of spyware and viruses raising havoc on your computer. I recommend reloading the operating system on a new Western Digital hard drive instead of your original hard drive. Reloading your software on a new hard drive eliminates the chances of losing your data by cloning or not copying all the necessary data from the original hard drive. Keeping the original hard drive separate from the reload gives you a safe and reliable backup of your data, pictures and music on the original hard drive.

The hard drives I recommend are made by Western Digital and come with a one- to three-year warranty, depending on the size and model you choose. These are a few of the drives that are available, and their prices.

I charge $80 to reload your original operating system on a new hard drive. I will reload on to your original hard drive as long as I am able to just reformat and save no data or information on the original hard drive. I will install the all drivers needed for the sound, network, video and other hardware in your system, and I will install all the basic Software needed to burn CDs and DVDs, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Power DVD and AVG virus software.

With a Basic Reload I will copy your data from your old hard drive from the main identity folder.  There is a $10 charge for each additional identity transfer setup.

The data I will transfer from the main identity will be

My documents folder
(includes subfolders like My music and My pictures folders)
Favorites folder
(includes your favorites in Internet Explorer)
Outlook express e-mail folder
(Includes all of your e-mails in the inbox/sent/deleted folders)
Outlook express Address book
(Includes all of your addresses in your address book)
Set up e-mail accounts
(You must provide the necessary information)

Arrangements can be made to transfer other data and install additional software and printers at additional costs over and above the basic reload.

Software like QuickBooks can only be installed if you have current working installation software and backups of your accounts in a backup format from a readable source.  Usernames, Passwords and activation key codes may be needed to restore accounts and are necessary to access accounts and activate software.
